This is a year 2 maths lesson on Calculating Money.

This lesson will teach your learners how to:

  • Coin values;

  • Count 1p, 2p, 5p and 10p coins

  • Count all coins

  • Equivalent groups of coins

  • Exchanging coins

  • Money – word problems

  • Least number of coins

  • Purchases: do you have enough money?

  • Compare money amounts

  • recognise and use symbols for pounds (£) and pence (p).

They will be able to combine amounts to make a particular value. They will also find different combinations of coins that equal the same amounts of money.

This lesson follows the National curriculum requirement for year 2 mathematics. It contains 50 interactive pages with vibrant designs and dynamic images.
